Rune Runners

Rune Runners is a colorful 3D action platformer for one or two players, made for playing together on the same couch or online. Two of four young mages team up, each casting a different element, water, fire, thunder or wind, to relight the rune torches of ten worlds, from the Whispering Woods to the Cosmic Rift. Every torch they light becomes a checkpoint, and once all of them burn, the portal opens and both mages step through together. Each level runs along a lane seen from a fixed three-quarter camera, with monsters, traps and hazards that belong to its world, and every attack is announced before it lands. When both players hit the same monster with two elements, the elements combine, and element objects open shortcuts and hidden places. Every world ends in a boss fight in three phases. Between the worlds, a village around an old Rune Tree comes back to life, with a merchant, quests from the villagers, a monster book and a boss arena. The three difficulty settings can be changed at any time, so a child and an experienced player can share the same game.
